September 8, 2020 — September 10, 2020: Pet Week on Capitol Hill
Pet Week is an annual dog and pet event where Members of Congress, industry leaders, the veterinary community, animal welfare advocates and research organizations shares information about the importance of pet ownership in America and the scientific evidence that shows how policies that strengthen the human-animal bond can improve wellbeing for both people and companion animals. Pet Night, the annual reception on Capitol Hill, will be a virtual event this year, held over three days. And, on Thursday, September 10th, the Cutest Pets on Capitol Hill winner will be announced. September 26, 2020: 3rd Annual World’s Largest Pet Walk
Pet Partners, the nation’s leading organization registering therapy animals for animal-assisted interventions (AAI), announces its 3rd annual World’s Largest Pet Walk — for anyone who wants to celebrate the health benefits of being active with pets, while also fundraising to support Pet Partners and its Therapy Animal Program. Participants in this dog event are encouraged to get outside and walk on their own or join a participating Pet Partners therapy animal group in their area. There is no registration fee to walk in the World’s Largest Pet Walk, but Pet Partners encourages supporters to fundraise in honor of their participation. Pet Partners offers incentives for walkers and their pets including pet bandanas, T-shirts, and leashes. September 29, 2020 — September 30, 2020: Canines-N-Kids’ Virtual Paws for a Cure Research Symposium
The free virtual event, co-presented with Merck and LabRoots convenes superstars from pediatric and veterinary disciplines and industry to explore innovative science and accelerate progress in solving cancers shared by children and man’s best friend. With significant support from title sponsor, the Petco Foundation, in collaboration with the Blue Buffalo Foundation, the symposium will explore advancing research in pediatric cancer treatments, including using comparative approaches. Plus, New data from the Golden Retreiver Lifetime Study will be released. The symposium runs from 1p.m. to 5p.m. each day.
