This time of year, it’s easy to fall into the winter doldrums. Cold temperatures and short, sunless days are enough to make anyone a little blue, but it’s easy to fix that with a dog & mom spa day at home.
Take an evening to create the mood and treat yourself and your dog to a few relaxing hours that are sure to get tails wagging this winter. Here’s how to create your own spa-like atmosphere at home.
3 Tips to Plan a Dog & Mom Spa Day at Home
1. Set the Scene
Put yourself (and your dog) in a spa-like frame of mind. Light some Pet House Candles, put on some relaxing music, and add a few drops of lavender essential oil to your favorite diffuser.
Creating a thoughtful atmosphere is guaranteed to help both you and your dog relax and enjoy what comes next.
2. Mani & Pedi for 2
Clip your dog’s nails, being careful to avoid the quick. Apply a coat of dog-friendly nail polish in your dog’s favorite color.
Then, clip your own nails, file, and massage in some cuticle oil. Apply your favorite shade of cruelty-free nail polish and let dry thoroughly. Bonus points if your polish matches your dog’s!
3. Massage Time
It’s time for a relaxing massage for your pooch. Let her get comfy on the floor or on a table, and then the fun begins!
With just a little coconut oil on your hands, begin to massage your dog from head to toe. The coconut oil will soften her coat and may also help to loosen tight muscles.
Just For Mom
Throughout your entire spa experience, you can be treating yourself to a DIY face mask. And if you want to have a nice glass of wine, I certainly won’t tell anyone!
